Meet Dr. Tim, The Original People Architect
Creating solutions guaranteed to work the FIRST time requires expertise in multiple disciplines. It requires knowing how to align people variables with technical solutions that will work in practice.
Success in almost every project depends on getting the people elements right. This is where Dr. Tim excels. He has the expertise to assess the human elements critical for solutions to be adopted in real life by real people.
Dr. Tim helps people navigate their unique, personal path to success. His groundbreaking work creating hundreds of Xpert Maps™ over 25 years in multiple industries and applications assures your project will produce valuable results every time.
People often think it is easy to create a map. It is not. Dr. Tim’s approach is different. He has refined his facilitation skills and methodology to assure information captured from end users and experts is trustworthy and complete. When other facilitators miss critical information, Tim catches it. This makes all the difference in winning out over others who will have missed the information as well.
It takes discipline and experience to learn how to see you don’t already know. Tim’s approach makes it much easier for clients to correct their false assumptions and recognize their biases. Just as many facilitators don’t know when they have missed something important in the data gathering, many clients need guidance to recognize when their most closely held, unquestionable assumptions have been shattered with customer evidence. Our approach goes beyond insight to determining what needs to be done better or differently.
Dr. Tim has spent a lifetime developing his facilitation expertise. Great facilitation requires knowing when to push, when to pull, and how to make it fun for high performers to reveal their wisdom and insights so others can learn.
Participating in Dr. Tim’s workshop is not only fun, it is totally engaging. His mapping workshops leave participants feeling like they have worked as hard as they could have, like they have revealed more than they could ever imagine sharing, and created literally hundreds of insights for the observers in the room. Participants leave feeling as if their time has been well used and that their contributions were highly valued.
Xpert Mapping™ leaves everyone full of enthusiasm and energy. Participants often clap. They glow with pride in what they have accomplished. This energy is a major part of what separates People Architects mapping from all the other consultants who use the word mapping in their approach.
Dr. Tim specializes in Action Research, a methodology developed by organization development professionals. They focus is on getting the whole “system” in the room. It energizes people to solve practical, immediate problems using the best science and wisdom available. Action Research succeeds with complex, seemingly intractable, human problems where other approaches have failed numerous times.
Action Research requires a powerful combination of social and behavioral science scholarship along with practical experience on doing what has been proven to work. Dr. Tim’s has a unique ability to combine scholarship with practice. His mission to “Enhance people’s ability to excel at performing life’s most important jobs” is built on the foundation started with his Ph.D. in Human Development and Human Performance from the University of MN.
